Joe Burrow has spent time training this offseason with Bengals teammate Ja’Marr Chase and old LSU teammate Justin Jefferson. Is a reunion in store?

The Cincinnati Bengals and quarterback Joe Burrow are looking to build off of an improbable Super Bowl run in 2021. The Burrow to Ja’Marr Chase connection looked like they never left LSU as the two made an incredible pair last season. But as the Bengals look for more in 2022 could Burrow already be recruiting another LSU reunion in Cincinnati?

During an appearance on The Bill Simmons podcast, NFL Networks Peter Schrager had this to say,

“Burrow right now is in I wanna say Newport Beach by you training Justins Jefferson’s there, Ja’Marr Chase was there.”

Bengals: Could Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase recruit former LSU teammate Justin Jefferson to Cincinnati?

However unlikely it might be that the Minnesota Vikings would ever let Jefferson go, one has to think that Burrow is at least trying to plant the seed in Jefferson’s mind. The 2019 LSU offense with Burrow, Jefferson, and Chase was one of the best college football has ever seen; a reunion in the NFL would be a lot of fun to watch.

During a Heisman-winning season in 2019 that also ended in a national title, Burrow threw for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdown passes while completing 76.3 percent of his passes. During that season, Jefferson finished with 1,540 yards receiving and 18 touchdowns while Chase added 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Those statistics are borderline video game numbers and you have to take a second glance to make sure you read that right. If somehow Burrow could lure Jefferson to Ohio, assuming the Bengals would facilitate that, it would be a significant problem for the rest of the NFL.
