Bears add Nathan Peterman to quarterback depth chart behind Justin Fields

Peterman is perhaps best known for having one of the worst starts by a quarterback in recent memory. In his very first NFL start in Week 10 of the 2017 season, Peterman completed 6-of-14 passes, but threw for 66 yards, zero touchdowns, and five interceptions in the first half against the Los Angeles chargers. He was benched in favor of Tyrod Taylor.

After his release from Buffalo, Peterman signed on with the Raiders, but was deep behind Derek Carr on the depth chart.

Peterman played in a total of 10 games in his career, where he threw for 573 yards, three touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing just 52.6-percent of his passes. Peterman holds a win-loss record of 1-3 as a quarterback.

Even though this signing might concern some Bears fans, it is important to note that Siemian is going to be the primary backup quarterback for the team in case Fields were to miss time. Siemian did play admirably last year when starting in place of Jameis Winston for the New Orleans Saints.
