The Philadelphia Phillies are in the thick of the NL Wild Card race, but if they are going to qualify for the postseason, they are going to have to do so without their best player for the foreseeable future. On Saturday, reigning NL MVP Bryce Harper was hit in the hand by a Blake Snell fastball. Harper was in obvious pain as he left the field, and later on that day, the news would break that the 29-year-old superstar suffered a fractured left thumb that will keep him on the shelf indefinitely. Harper initially seemed to be upset with Snell, but was able to clear up things after the game. “It’s a bummer that it happened, but (Snell) is a great player and a great human being as well. I wish him the best, I told him that as well. Keep throwing the inside fastball because it sets up the slider really good.”
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. Throughout MLB history, 32 players have won the AL or NL MVP Awards more than once, including Harper, who became the most recent member of that club after last season. So with that in mind, how many of those players can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
