World super featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson rates O’Shaquie Foster as the second-best fighter in the division.
Stevenson, the WBC and WBO title holder at 130-pounds, believes American stylist Foster would defeat the rest of the contenders.
The slick Foster is ranked as number one in the WBC rankings and holds lofty positions with both the WBO and IBF.
A final eliminator between Foster and Eduardo Ramirez has been ordered by the WBC, with the winner in line to fight US star Stevenson, and though the champion believes he would defeat his compatriot, he says the Texan is the best of the rest.
“I’m going to tell you about a secret fighter, that nobody knows about – O’Shaquie Foster,” Stevenson told the Last Stand podcast.
“If he’s 100% and will come at his best then I think he is the second-best fighter in the division. I think he would beat the rest of these guys; I just don’t think he would beat me.”
Foster floored Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov en route to a points win at Probellum’s Evolution card in March, which helped secure his number one status with the WBC.
The 18-2 man is part of a pack of super featherweights chasing down a shot at Stevenson, which also includes his Probellum stablemates Archie Sharp and Eduardo Hernandez. Sharp is the top contender under the WBO and he’s been very vocal when it comes to getting a shot at Stevenson.
