Tyson Fury has yet to determine his next course of action as it relates to his pro career.

Among the things he ruled out, however, were claims of his being on course to face the winner of the Oleksandr Usyk-Anthony Joshua rematch later this summer. A report from the UK’s Daily Mail claimed that Manchester’s Fury (32-0-1, 23KOs) was in advanced talks to face the winner in December for the undisputed championship, with both fights to take place in the Middle East as suggested in the report.

“I’ve seen the Daily Mail, idiots that they are, that I’m in deep negotiations with the Saudis and Usyk’s team,” Fury noted during a 35-minute in-house interview that premiered on Queensberry Promotions’ YouTube channel on Tuesday. “Frank Warren’s my team. If anyone is going to be doing any sort of dealings with anybody for any fight, it’s Frank. I know Frank doesn’t know anything, unless he’s got those big numbers under his sleeve and he’s going to whip them out during this interview.

“Just the Daily Mail talking sh!te. Nothing as of yet. Something will come out, but it doesn’t involve Usyk or Joshua. I will make a decision on all of this. I’m the one who just fought, it wasn’t even three months ago. I wouldn’t be coming back until October or November, December anyway.

Speculation has run rampant of Fury’s eventual ring return from the moment he claimed he was done with the sport following his latest win. Fury alleged that he was retired moments after a sixth-round knockout of countryman and mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte in their WBC title consolidation clash this past April 23 in front of a record crowd of 94,000 at Wembley Stadium.

As boxing retirements tend to last as long as the average gap between fights, many in the industry expect Fury—who turns 34 in August—will fight again. The 6’9” king of the heavyweight division revealed that a ring return was likely but that such notice will come in due course and on his terms.

“Ever since I said I was retired, everyone’s been on me going, ‘Are you really retiring? Have a couple more fights.’ This has been going on every day,” admitted Fury, all while at his leisure receiving his weekly haircut and shave. “I’ve got no mandatories coming up. I took care of two mandatories back-to-back, [Deontay] Wilder and Whyte. I could have two voluntaries if I want. No one’s pushing me to do anything. I’ve got no rush to make a decision.”

Fury has not ruled out one day facing the winner of the Usyk-Joshua winner for the undisputed championship.

Usyk claimed the WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO in a twelve-round, unanimous decision last September in North London. Their rematch is targeted for mid-August in Saudi Arabia, with Fury preferring to wait on the outcome before further commenting on a desired showdown with the winner.
